For librarians who are interested, I am presenting a session about Books for Military Children at the Virginia Library Association Conference on September 25-27, 2013.
The Session Description reads:
Books for Military Children
Over two million American children have had a parent deployed since 9/11. Tens of thousands of these children live in Virginia. Explore how well literature validates military children’s experiences of constant relocations, parental absence and danger. Learn how your library can recognize, reach and serve this often overlooked group.
